Tomorrow morning I’ll be off to Hollywood for the weekend. Dinner at the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday, and a tour of the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
I think I’ll also check out Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, since it is only half a mile from my hotel. Who knows, I might even run into someone famous. =) Maybe someone important will see me and ask me to be in a movie. Yeah right. A girl can dream, can’t she?

Friday Five is alive again!
Friday Five
Finally, last week’s questions. =)
1. What do you do for a living?
Quality assurance!
2. What do you like most about your job?
I’m good at it. It would be horrible to not be good at it, I prefer to do things in areas where I can excel.
3. What do you like least about your job?
It’s not very challenging. At least not yet. I’ve only been here just under 2 months.
4. When you have a bad day at work it’s usually because _____…
I’m tired, or I don’t have enough to do. Sometimes it’s because of the people I work with.
5. What other career(s) are you interested in?
I’m planning on taking a chemistry class this fall, the first of 10 or 16 classes I’d like to take so that I can apply for graduate school. Right now I’m considering the Microbiology and Molecular Genetics program at UC Irvine. After general chemistry, then I’ll be taking organic chemistry, biochem, cell bio, genetics, physics, and physical chemistry. If I’m doing well, I might try to apply to grad school without the physics and the physical chem.
Easter, my birthday, and other news
So. tomorrow is Easter. It’s also my birthday. Darren suggested we should call it “Brie-ster”. I like the sound of that, my holiday now has an official, unique name.
It’s been three days, so maybe it’s time to share the news with everyone… I quit smoking! =) I’m so happy that I have finally found the strength to do it, and finally realized that it isn’t as hard as I imagined it might be.
Work has been really busy, we’ve got a big project to complete this month, so it’s been really hectic. And yesterday, after a crappy day at the office, what did I come to find but an early birthday present! 2 dozen red roses. Wow. That really brightened up my day.
Got lots of family coming tomorrow for “Brie-ster”, I have to clean the bathroom and vacuum around the house.
Happy Brie-ster! HA! =)
Million dollar ideas
Syrup by Max Barry is one of the funniest books I have read in a long time.
Scat has forsaken his given name of Michael in order to be more marketable. He’s just graduated from college and dreaming of becoming a major player in the marketing business of Los Angeles when his million dollar idea hits. He’s read somewhere that every American has at least 3 ideas worth a million dollars per year…and he can’t wait to capitalize on his.
With a vision of a catchy soda name, and a black can, Scat takes his idea to Coke. The book just gets better from there, as Scat tries to battle the piranhas at Coke, reclaim his ideas from his sneaky roommate, and save his yet to be started marketing career, all while falling in love.
It’s adventurous, bold, and daring. It’s life in the fast world of advertising and marketing, where you have to fight for everything and can trust no one.
And remember…Taste is marketing…
